What is Water Hardness?

Corroded drainpipe. What is hard water and how does it do this?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Water quality often boils down to hard and soft. It commonly contains elements such as magnesium, calcium, and other dissolved rocks. A water softener removes these minerals through a process known as ion exchange.

What can you look for?

If you see staining or scaling, build up on your sinks, tubs, showers and clothing, scaling deposits on your glassware, and damage because of scale in your pipes and appliances. You will also notice less lather from your shampoos/soaps and a filmy dryness feeling on your skin.

Often, types of skin irritations correlate to a lack of softness.

Hardness can also produce a rock-like scale that builds up in pipes, heaters, plumbing fixtures, dishwashers and other related appliances. This scale will reduce water flow, clog valves and vents and create maintenance problems reducing the life of your appliances.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][us_image image=”8216″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][us_image image=”8214″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][us_image image=”8213″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
