Kinetico AquaKinetic A200

Better Drinking Water. A Smart, Simple Choice.

Cleaner, safer drinking water matters whether it comes from the city or your own well. The AquaKinetic A200 is Kinetico's simple, reliable reverse osmosis system. It fits under your sink, runs without electricity, and filters your water through three stages before it reaches a dedicated faucet.

It's certified by WQA to NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 58 to reduce chlorine taste, lead, arsenic V, cysts, fluoride, and dissolved solids. On city water, that means better tasting water and fewer of the metals you don't want in your glass. On well water, it adds a trusted layer of protection against contaminants like arsenic and lead that can show up in private wells.

You Want Water That Tastes Better

You Want Water That Tastes BetterChlorine taste and smell are getting in the way of enjoying your drinking water.

You Want More From Your Drinking Tap

You Want More From Your Drinking TapYou’re looking to reduce lead and dissolved solids in the water you drink and cook with.

If your water test detects PFOA or PFOS, VOCs, chloramine, or arsenic III, we’ll guide you toward the Kinetico K5 with VOC Guard, adding specialty cartridges for chloramine or arsenic III as needed to match your water’s treatment needs.

The Fix

How the AquaKinetic Works

Three stages. Water passes through a high-capacity prefilter that catches sediment and reduces chlorine, then through the reverse osmosis membrane, then through a carbon postfilter on the way to a dedicated lead-free tap. A 3-gallon storage tank sits under the sink holding treated water ready.

Like the rest of the Kinetico line, it runs on water pressure alone. No electricity, no timer, nothing to reset. An automatic shutoff stops production when the tank is full, so it isn't sending water to drain when nobody's drinking. Cartridges are quick-disconnect, so changes are a twist rather than a plumbing job.

The unit measures roughly 13 by 5 by 16 inches, which matters more than people expect under a cabinet that already has a disposal in it.

The Three Stages

  • Prefilter — Sediment and chlorine taste reduced
  • RO membrane — Dissolved minerals, metals, and cysts rejected to drain
  • Carbon postfilter — Final polish before the dedicated tap

The Systems

What the A200 Is Certified to Reduce

Certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 58. These are the tested figures from Kinetico's performance data sheet, not marketing estimates.

Lead 97.3%, copper 98.7%, cadmium 99.7%, barium 98.7%, selenium 99%, hexavalent chromium 98.0%, trivalent chromium 99.0%, and pentavalent arsenic 99.7%.

Cysts, Solids, and Other

NSF/ANSI 58

Cysts, Solids, and Other

Cysts greater than 99.99%, total dissolved solids 92.4%, fluoride 95.9%, turbidity 99.8%, and radium 226/228 at 80%.

What It Is Not Certified For

What It Is Not Certified For

The A200 carries no NSF/ANSI Standard 53 certification, no VOC or organics claims, and no PFAS claim of any kind. It also has no auxiliary cartridge slots, so none of that can be added later. If your water needs those, look at the K5 Drinking Water Station instead.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the AquaKinetic A200 certified to reduce?
WQA has certified it against NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 58. That covers chlorine taste and odor at 97.17%, lead at 97.3%, pentavalent arsenic at 99.7%, cadmium at 99.7%, copper at 98.7%, barium at 98.7%, selenium at 99%, chromium, fluoride at 95.9%, cysts above 99.99%, dissolved solids at 92.4%, turbidity at 99.8%, and radium 226/228 at 80%.
Does the AquaKinetic reduce PFAS?
No. It carries no PFAS certification or claim. If PFAS is a concern at your address, the K5 is the Kinetico system to look at, and we can run a third-party PFAS test so you know what you're dealing with first.
How many stages does it have?
Three filtration stages: a prefilter, the reverse osmosis membrane, and a carbon postfilter. Kinetico's brochure describes a five-stage process by counting the storage tank and the faucet, but three is the count that describes the filtration.
How much water does it make in a day?
About 11 gallons, into a 3-gallon storage tank. That's plenty for drinking, cooking, and coffee in most households. If you're filling water bottles for a family of five every morning, the K5 makes two to four times as much and is the better fit.
Does it need electricity?
No. It runs on household water pressure, with an automatic shutoff that stops production once the tank is full.
Can I add filters to it later?
No. The A200 is three fixed stages with no auxiliary slots. That's the single biggest practical difference from the K5, and it's the reason we ask about your water before recommending it rather than after.
What's the warranty?
7 years on parts, including the storage tank and faucet. The membrane carries 2 years when the system follows a Kinetico water softener. The K5's equivalent figures are 10 and 10, which is part of what you're paying for with that system.
How big is it, and will it fit under my sink?
The unit is roughly 13 by 5 by 16 inches, plus a 3-gallon storage tank about 14 inches tall and 9 inches across. Most sink cabinets take it fine. It can also go in a basement or utility room and feed the tap from there, which is what we do when the cabinet is full.
How often do the filters need changing?
Generally annual on the prefilter and postfilter, with the membrane running longer. There's no filter-life indicator or shut-off on the A200, so it's a calendar item. We can put it on a service schedule, and Gordy Care Plan members get a discount on filters.
How much does the AquaKinetic cost?
It depends on the install and whether it's going in alongside other equipment. We test your water for free and lay out options at different price points. Ask about current bundle offers when you schedule.
